I could write pages upon pages of how passionate, and talented Leafy Couture are, however that would not do the team justice. I believe that a picture speaks a thousand words and therefore throughout this post I have chosen some of Box Tree Events favourite flowers Leafy Couture have created over the years.

Tour de France what an amazing legacy

After years of planning, months of preparation and weeks of excitement, the Tour de France has now been and gone leaving a incredible legacy behind.

The atmosphere of the whole event was immense, but for every one in Yorkshire the Grand de Part was extra special making us all 'Proud as Punch' and showcasing our beloved county to the world.

The Box Tree team worked extremely hard, both in the run up to the event and on the day, seeing us serve breakfast to VIPs at Harewood House and keeping Ilkley watered and feed across the road from the restaurant on Daffodil Hill.

Despite the 3am wake up call for the team at Harewood after a soggy night camping, everyone was in high spirits and excited for the day ahead.  While Breakfast was being served Lord Harewood welcomed his special guests which included The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry  and Nick Clegg.

Our Menu ....

Eggs Benedict - Poached Eggs on Toasted English Muffins with Hollandaise Sauce and York Ham

Creamy Kedgeree, with McKenzie smoked Haddock

Black Pudding, Potato Cake, Tomato Chutney

--------

Freshly Baked Croissants, Pain au Chocolat, Pain au Raisin and Brioche

Home-Baked Bread Served with Yorkshire Sourced Strawberry Jam & Thick Cut Marmalade

A Selection of Fresh Seasonal Fruit, Home-Made Yoghurts and Fruit Compote

The Director of The Box Tree Restaurant Rena Gueller even managed to get a selfie with the Royals.

Just about to cut the ribbon for the official start of the big race!

The other half of the Box Tree team were based on Daffodil Hill opposite the restaurant, right in the heart of the action. We welcomed people from all over to join us for coffee, croissants, baguettes, ice cream, beer, wine and champagne. Not only did the Box Tree sell food within the marquee, but some of the team even walked as far as Ilkley Tennis Club, selling baguettes and pastries to the masses.

It is hard to believe the Tour de France is now over. Wherever you were during the first 3 stages, whether it be right on the side of the road or watching it on your television at home, the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire was an incredible experience and one that will not be forgotten.
