Brazil comes to Denton Hall

Last weekend was the wedding of Francine Prado Sanches and Harry Wood and it was THE best way to kick off the wedding season 2014 and an amazing way to celebrate Box Tree Events’ 100th wedding at Denton Hall

Francine’s side of the family travelled more than 5,500 miles to join Box Tree Events at Denton Hall to celebrate the coming together of Yorkshire and Brazil. The combination of Yorkshire and Brazil was displayed in the wedding favours where guests were treated to some Yorkshire Honey along with a slice of Brazilian cake. My personal favourite Yorkshire/Brazilian combination, however, was the speeches. Some of Francine’s family could not speak a lot of English, and therefore the speeches given in English were translated into Portuguese and vice versa. Harry (the Groom), delivered his speech perfectly in both English and Portuguese.

Some of our usual favourite suppliers were also there to help make this wedding spectacular. Leafy Couture’s  flowers filled the dining room with simple yet effective arrangements; the Daisy’s were a particularly nice touch. Richard Wynn-Davies captured the whole wedding perfectly, from the groom practicing his speech to the moment the couple said “I do”. Richard has created a video of a selection of the photographs he took that day http://vimeo.com/89928515. Dave Spink videography had plenty to film with over 100 guests filling Denton Hall. The cake by Patisserie Viennoise was beautiful and by the looks on all of the guests faces, it was delicious. Francine and Harry’s wedding was a family filled event with 19 children, including a new born. However the children were not expected to sit quietly and eat their dinner with everyone else, Perfectly Practical Parties were there to keep the children fully entertained, filling the Middleton room with toys, games, crafts and even a nap area.

The evening reception has got to be the highlight of the wedding, as the sounds of Rio de Janeiro, from the amazingly talented band Multibloco entered Denton Hall, the guests and even the staff could not help but dance. While guests enjoyed the sounds of Brazil, they were also treated to Romero de Mangueira the extremely talented Samba dancer from the Favela’s of Rio de Janeiro and Shyamala Gamal a beautiful Brazilian Samba dancer who wore two magnificent outfits, complete with feathers and lots of sparkle. I was even lucky enough to try one of Shyamala’s head pieces on.

Francine and Harry’s wedding was an amazing event and one that I wont be forgetting anytime soon, Box Tree Events could not have asked for a better wedding to celebrate its 100th wedding at Denton Hall and cannot wait to see which bride and groom we will be celebrating our 200th wedding with.

Concorde and The Prince's Trust

CATERING UNDER THE WINGS OF CONCORDE

Summer has once again been an extremely busy time for Box Tree Events, with a number of events taking place in a variety of venues over the North of England.
Without doubt one of our most challenging and exciting events was catering for one of our largest corporate client at Manchester Concorde Runway Centre. Within a hanger located just off the runway itself, Concorde G-BOAC is housed, which was to be the venue for the evening. The guests were treated to a champagne reception and offered tours on board the world's first supersonic airliner. The 150+ guests were then seated and enjoyed a four course meal, including Salmon Tournadoes, Fillet of Beef, Rasberry Milles-Feuilles, and finished off with a selection of local Cheeses. Finally, the guests made their way to the rear of the aircraft where The RAF Marching Brass Band proceeded to fill the hanger with their unforgettable sounds and marches, playing a large collection of pieces for the guests' entertainment.

BOX TREE EVENTS CATER FOR HRH PRINCE CHARLES AND SUPPORTERS OF THE PRINCE'S TRUST

Box Tree Events were lucky enough to cater for HRH Prince Charles and supporters of The Prince's Trust at Harewood House. It marked a busy day for the Prince, who visited a host of locations in Yorkshire. The day was particularly poignent for HRH, with news of The Duchess of Cambridge going into labour earlier that morning. Later in the evening it was confirmed she had given birth to Prince George Alexander Louis. At the news, the dinners erupted into cheers, and a special toast was made for the future king. Among other special guests were Lesley Garrett and Ruby Macintosh. Ruby is a beneficiary from the work of the Prince's Trust, who have helped the young musician develop a business plan, buy new equipment and release her album.

The guests were greeted into the Royal House with a glass of champagne, and met the Prince of Wales upon the terrace whilst enjoying canapes. Later the guests were treat to a three course dinner, before listening to the operatic voice of Lesley Garrett and the acoustic sound of Ruby Macintosh.

Wedding Experience 2013

Do Tell The Bride - future brides test drive their Big Day at the “Wedding Experience”

Newly engaged couples flocked to Denton Hall, Yorkshires finest wedding venue this spring to play dress up at a real life wedding experience.

Over 80 brides-to-be attended our second annual “Wedding Experience” at Ilkley’s Denton Hall on 14 April to try the venue and its suppliers on for size.

Following on from the success of our first event in 2012 the “Wedding Experience” threw away the conventional wedding fayre template of large conference venues crammed with similar suppliers, groaning grooms and blustered brides.

The future newlyweds were encouraged to walk down the aisle, sit at the top table and propose a toast to their imaginary guests.

We recognised that Yorkshire is the second most popular region for civil ceremonies in the UK and was crying out for a wedding fayre with authenticity.  Ourselves and Denton Hall scheduled the event for the start of the 2013 wedding season and invited selected suppliers to showcase their products and services, in the same way they would on the wedding day itself.

Our wedding package at Denton Hall is as unique as the bride and groom so we wanted to create an experience to give a real feel for what the Big Day may look like.

Wedding trends are showing that couples are opting for personalised weddings using their own vows, tee pees, vintage camper vans vintage crockery and music.  The hand-picked suppliers represented the current need to create a bespoke wedding day and included; The Event Music Company, The Whole Hog UK, Richard Wynn-Davies, Story Of Your Day, Steve Myers Photography, Ambience Venue Styling, Leafy Couture Wedding Flowers, TotallyTipi and Alexandra Lowe.
